HerInDep has attanded RSA annual conference on June 14th 2024 in Florence, Italy.
Our team, represented by Prof. Ivan Murin and Kestutis Zaleckis presented results of our studies in a panel "The Cognitive Frames Modeling as an Approach to Analyze a Place Transformation from Attractors and Selectionist Theory: Case Kaunas."
The presented research successfully combined the scientific theory of anthropology with the cognitive framework (CF) model by J.Peponis based on Space Syntax, studying how the CF differs when comparing residents and tourists. The results of the research demonstrated that the so-called "distributive" spatial codes of the spaces most often used by residents are much more complex than those of tourists, and the "correlative" codes of the most touristic spaces provide much more alternative positions for seeing the same spaces from different perspectives. The research, in turn, makes it possible to predict the activity of various spatial and objects, including cultural heritage, on metal maps; could be used as a background for heritage management plans, etc. It is planned to present the research results in the article soon.
